According to 50states.com, Hawaii is the most isolated population center on earth. It’s 2,390 miles from California, 3,850 from Japan, 4,900 from China and 5,280 from the Philippines. It’s also the only state that grows coffee. Hawaii harvests more macadamia nuts and orchids than anywhere else in the world and provides more than a third of the world’s commercial supply of pineapples.

When many people first read about the State of Hawaii, they conclude the most unusual fact about it is that it consists of eight main islands: Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe and the Big Island of Hawaii. Or they recall the Japanese invasion at Pearl Harbor. However, there are many other interesting facts associated with the state…it’s the widest and has its own time zone!!

The Economy of Giving and Receiving!

The exchanging of money and material goods is simple. You pay for this, you get that… Simple mathematics – your wallet gets lighter as you give. But the economy of our heart is different; The more you give the more you have! You must have experienced it – When you play witha small child and you laugh and you give– you must have felt the love within grow stronger. When you give unconditionally, it provokes a state of pure joy! The foundation of the ability to give, I believe is the acknowledgement of infinite abundance….right down to the breath.

The warmth of the sun on your skin, the magnificent display of Lehua Blossoms. The rain drenching you from the skies. Nature is abundant especially here in Kailua-Kona, Hawaii. Just imagine feeling this abundance while sipping a cold Mai Tai on th lanai of one my spectacular - vacation rentals.

Famous for the active Kilauea volcano, the Big Island of Hawaii is home to a list of fascinating anomalies.

Eleven different climate zones generate everything from lush rain forests to arid deserts, black sand beaches to snow-capped mountaintops. The Big Island is Hawaii’s biggest playground! Check out these adventures:

Hike, ski or snowboard in the snow atop Mauna Kea, the world’s tallest mountain (measured from the ocean floor)

Hike or camp in Waipio Valley, also called the “Valley of the Kings”

Explore Puukohola Heiau, the largest restored ancient Hawaiian religious temple

Shop, culture and cuisine in Hilo and the Gold Coast

See the molten lava flow at Kilauea volcano in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park

Of course these are just some of the myriad of opportunities to hike, explore, camp and shop on the Big Island of Hawaii. You can begin your Kona adventure after a peaceful night sleep in 1 of my vacation rental condos at Kanaloa-at-Kona!Looking for a fantastic vacation rental on the Big Island of Hawaii – Kailua-Kona? I have 2 beautiful Oceanside units at Kanaloa-at-Kona!
