Great Golfing In Kapalua

Friday, July 24th, 2009

Here is a great suggestion. Check out Nohonani Condos and Resort, unit 204 which is technically located in an area called Honokawai. Where is this? It is located about 7 minutes South of Kapalua and about ten minutes North of Kaanapali. This condo is truly a hidden gem. When you see the location, you will hardly believe your eyes. Sit on your lanai and what you see is water, as clear as the finest of crystal and a big beautiful beach with white powdery sand. In addition, for those of you who love golf, there are two excellent courses 7 minutes North of the condo in Kapalua. Try the Kapalua Bay course. Zagat guide says” that many call this the friendliest course on the North end of Maui, with great new greens installed just in time for 2008’s inaugural Kapalua LPGA Classic.” You will find wonderful service and that it is enjoyable to players of all skill levels.

The other amazing course is The Kapalua Plantation course which according to the Zagat Guide is “As beautiful and breathtaking as they come and the top rated course in Hawaii. You may have seen it on tv during the PGA’s Mercedes-Benz Championship.”

If your spouse is not a golf lover, there is a wonderful spa at The Ritz Carlton that anyone would find extremely enjoyable. I personally have visited several times and have really enjoyed the massages they offer.

After this fabulous day, you will merely have a 7 minute drive back to the condo (Nohonani 204) and can sit on the lanai overlooking the turquoise water and mellow out sipping a nice cool glass of lemonade or a great bottle of wine. You truly can’t find a better located or more attractive condo. As you fall off to dreamland, you will hear the sound of the gentle waves lulling you to sleep. That is what I call Nirvana!!

A Golfer’s Paradise In Kaanapali

Friday, July 24th, 2009

Do you or your husband love golf? My husband and I found a wonderful solution to our age old dilemma. I like to shop and he likes to golf. We found our answer while staying at The Whaler Resort  (unit 661). We loved this condo because of its fabulous location, beautifully designed interior and beachfront location. There are two wonderful golf courses located within minutes of this condo. Check out the Kaanapali Golf Resort, Kaanapali Kai. This course offers phenomenal greens and spectacular views and scenery. According to the Zagat’s guide, “you can’t beat the location or service.”

Another course associated with the Kaanapali Golf Resort is called Royal Kaanapali, This is a little more difficult than the Sister course, but if you like a challenge, the track is still manageable for the average golfer.

So, do like we did (unless you both love golf). Stay at the Whaler Resort Condo (661) and send your husband/boyfriend or significant other over to Golfer’s Heaven. The concierge in the lobby will help you book your time. Meanwhile, I walked two minutes to Whaler’s Village, located adjacent to the condo, and spent a leisurely morning or afternoon browsing thru the many unique and wonderful shops. My personal favorite is called “Sand People”. You will both be thrilled with your day and will probably want to repeat it again. Meet back at The Whaler 661, gaze out at the turquoise blue ocean and relax on the lanai, sipping a nice Pine Colada and talk about the highlights of your day!

Maui Vacation Rentals- Where to stay?

Be a Kid again...

Be a Kid again...

lanai-with-header

Don't be fooled by 'peek-a-bo' views... be directly on the water with us

Maui has been rated the Best Island in the World for over a dozen years now, this once little known slice of Paradise is attracting new visitors every year- giving it its longevity as a ‘Perfect Vacation Spot’. But ‘Where do I stay?’ you may be asking yourself…

I have a gem to tell you about, an amazing oceanfront condo nested right above the waves on the sleepier North side of Ka’anapali beach, voted #1 Beach in America a few years back. Maui Kai 301 is a spectacular oceanfront and beachfront location. It has location, location, location… but it also has luxury… drench your senses amidst views so close to the water, you may sometimes think you were on a cruise ship! But the ammenities… sapphire granite countertops throughout, top quality king size ‘Sleep Number’ bed adjusts firmness individually per side, custom made shower spacious enough for two :)  with special accents of turtle inlays and river rock from Bali, gorgeous fine art giclee prints throughout and everything you need for a great vacation- including a well stocked kitchen with things you hate to buy on vacation like saran wrap, paper towels and spices… but we also provide FUN for a day at the beach! Including provided boogie boards, snorkel equipment, beach chairs, umbrella, cooler and even blue ice to keep your things cold without the mess!

Are you a ‘first timer’?  The question you are likely wondering is ’Where t0 stay?’ Each area of Maui is very distinct and tends to attract its ‘own kind’ of visitor. The North Shore attracts the surfing crowd, due to the famous Ho’okipa Beach, known as the best windsurfing spot in the world. The East Side of Hana attracts the more adventurous- those whom wish to explore the huge tropical rainforest and aren’t disappointed with a daily rainshower or two. Upcountry is known for its paniolo or cowboy heritage, and the South side is known for its residential feel… but ahhh, the West Side.

The West Side is made for the vacationer! This exciting location has world class restaurants, a rich history, and holds the title of one of America’s sunniest towns with over 350 days of sun a year… but truly, what makes the West Side so great, is it is the home of one of  Maui’s most famous beaches- ahhh…  Ka’anapali! In days of old, this three miles of white sandy beach was the vacation playground of the Royal class, the ali’i. This lengthy crown of dusty white sand nestles crystal turquoise waters that are ideal for swimming, snorkeling and sunbathing. One of Hawaii’s best snorkel spots is located right here at Black Rock, a large outcropping of cooled lava splits this 3 mile beach about in half. South Ka’anapali Beach is a manicured golf course and resort complex with big name hotels such as the Marriot and the Sherton. It boasts the famous Whaler’s Village shopping center with its outdoor shopping and beachfront dining. The North side of Ka’anapali Beach is the more ‘sleepy side’ with many individually owned condo resorts offering great oceanfront and beachfront locations without the hustle and bustle of the bigger name resorts.

So if you are thinking about where to stay in Maui, think Oceanfront, think Beachfront, think West Side… Think  Maui Kai 301! See this gorgeous unit in full 360 virtual tours so you can see for yourself, how incredible the location and ammenties are in this gem of a Maui vacation rental.
