Napili Bay Construction – FINISHED Aug 2009

April 12th, 2009 by Jim Dornfeld

The Napili Bay Resort owners have approved the installation of a fire suppression system that is going to be installed throughout the resort during the months of April – July, 2009.   The work is estimated to be complete in 60-90 days depending upon weather conditions.

The work will start the week of April 13th with the installation of new water supply lines underground from Hui Drive, through the parking area directly mauka (toward the mountains) of the laundry hut, and across the center drive to connect with both buildings.

Interior work in each condo can be done in one day with 3-4 units being done at one time and will not be done while guests are in the units.  There will be a pipe run along the ceiling of the downstairs unit lanais and may occur while guests are in the unit.  Second floor condos will simply have sprinkler heads installed in the ceiling.  First floor units will have a pipe run along the kitchen/bath partition wall with one sprinkler head for the kitchen and 2 sprinkler heads for the bathroom/dressing area.

All efforts will be made by the resident manager and owners to minimize any inconvenience for our guests.  Work hours are restricted to 8-5 and no machinery will be run before 9AM.  The project will help provide additional safety for owners and guests along with insuring that the Napili Bay Resort will continue to be a wonderful Maui beachfront resort for our guests in the future.

The fire suppression system installation is nearly complete. Most of the heavy/noisy work is done.

Water lines have been laid under the parking lot and up to the building. Most of the installations are complete on the 1st floor condos. Second floor condo installations and work in the attic should begin soon and will only happen when the condo is unoccupied.

Connecting the water supply to the water main under the road will probably be the last thing as we are still waiting on the Water Dept. to give us the final go-ahead so we can get the road permit.
