Tour the Lush Tropical Paradise of Kauai, Hawaii

Kauai, Hawaii is a rare tropical jewel situated at the northernmost end of the Hawaiian island. Kauai offers sparkling beaches, lush green cliffs and valleys, and plenty of activities to keep travelers busy throughout their stay. It is the oldest island in Hawaii, it spans over 550 square miles of land along the beautiful Pacific Ocean, and is an excelent place to vacation.
Kauai can be reached by plane from Honolulu in only about 20 minutes. As of 2000, the population of Kauai was estimated at around 58,300. The area has many scenic waterfalls, several mountains, and deep valleys. “Garden Isle” is the island’s well-earned nickname.

To the north, there’s the Napali Coast State Park, which attracts tourists from around the world. The park consists of a rugged coastline, enchanting sea cliffs, and mystic beauty. It’s the perfect one-day getaway for those who want to relax and adore the park’s natural beauty.
Shopping in Kauai is exciting with plenty of shops for souvenirs and unique products. There’s the Kinipopo Shopping Village, where tourists can visit a variety of shops and restaurants. This area has a water sports shop with kayak and water-ski rentals. There are also shops with vintage items, jewelry, shirts, and art. At the Coconut Marketplace, there are more than 70 fine shops with art, jewelry, crafts, and more. Another popular shopping area is the Wailua Shopping Plaza where there are antique shops and restaurants.

Kauai offers some of the most challenging and scenic golf courses in Hawaii. There are resort golf courses and public courses with mountain scenes and ocean-side layouts. Horseback riding is another popular activity on the island. Travelers can explore the island by horse trails along the coast or through the valleys. Other outdoor activities to enjoy in Kauai include camping, fishing, scuba diving, windsurfing, and hiking.
