Maui from the Air

Everybody has seen images of Hawaii taken from the air – usually cameras panning along the coastlines, revealing bright beaches with lush forest beyond. But when you take a trip by air across the beautiful island of Maui, you’ll find that there’s much more to discover.
Vacationing in Maui has so much to offer that it can be difficult to know where to begin. A ride across the island in a small plane or helicopter can be a great way to find out more about what’s on offer. With some such services, it’s necessary to book ahead, but it’s often still possible to arrange an air tour after you arrive at your Maui vacation condo.
Seeing Maui by plane is always impressive, and as it’s not as noisy as a helicopter flight you may find it easier to converse with your guide. However, planes can’t safely get into all the nooks and crannies which are accessible to helicopters, and they can’t easily linger in the places which interest you the most. A helicopter trip won’t just take you over Maui, it’ll take you into it, carrying you through hidden ravines and into secret valleys. You’ll glimpse spectacular waterfalls which are invisible from ground level. Travelling out along the coast, you can swoop down to investigate the rivers pouring our into the ocean, or you can curve up along the side of massive forested cliffs toward the peaks of the interior. Flying at dusk, you’ll see the most spectacular sunsets out over the open ocean, turning the blue water to fire.
Perhaps surprisingly, helicopter flights over Maui start at quite affordable prices, putting them well within the reach of the average vacationer. Look out for discounts as these are almost always available, and sometimes there are reduced prices for children. You’ll find your ride so exciting that you’ll be anxious to write and tell your friends about it as soon as you get back to your Maui vacation condo, and you’ll have amazing photographs to show them when you get home.
