Kapalua is More than Just Pineapples

Mention Kapalua, Hawaii and many people picture the lush pineapple fields of the area. While Kapalua, Maui does have large luscious pineapple groves, it also offers luxury resorts, world-class dining, and first-rate beaches. Kapalua, Hawaii is much more than just 23,000 rolling acres of pineapple plantations.

Kapalua Resort Area

Kapalua’s resort area encompasses 1,650 acres of tropical Hawaiian land. Kapalua is called the arms embracing the sea by Hawaiians. The natural outcroppings resemble loving arms of land reaching into the crashing waves of the sea. This area features three white sand beaches perfect for relaxing or playing in the surf.

Merriman’s Kapalua is the creation of Chef Peter Merriman, one of the premier Hawaiian chefs and co-founder of Hawaii Regional Cuisine. This fine dining establishment brings fresh, locally grown produce and seafood to the tables of its guests. It is situated in the former location of the Kapalua Bay Club, and affords spectacular views from every dining table. This restaurant was recently host to the Kapalua Food and Wine Festival.

Beach Activities at Kapalua

Kapalua beaches are legendary for their beach activities. The Kapalua beach area near the Ritz- Carlton Resort is best known for swimming due to the mild winds and waves in this region. Water-related activities abound at any of the private or public beaches in the Kapalua area.
