Here are our last guest comments on our waterfront Waikiki condo unit 1530.

Awesome vacation on oahu      Overall rating: family of 4 from atlanta, ga on 08/16/2010 said: “ enjoyed the condo very much and found it more than adequate for our needs. location was great for us – close to the beach and restaurants. ”

Great ocean view     Overall rating: the vacationer from Beaumont, ca on 08/03/2010 said:“ I would stay there again. The condo was a bit small for more than 2 people, there is not allot of storage or drawers to put clothes in. The closet was average with a few shelfs. the queen size bed was OK (not to hard or soft). Kitchen and living room were tight but very nice and well furnished. They even had snorkels, body boards, beach chairs and a portable cooler for the beach. Very clean and well maintained. Sliding doors separate the living from the bedroom for privacy, very large balcony. ”

Great place to stay    Overall rating: Australia, state of Victoria. 6th trip to Hawaii on 05/20/2010 said:“ We enjoyed the accomodation at the aloha condos, great location, close to Ala Moana shopping centre. Walking distance to the centre of Wakiki and the beach plus the lagoon, also great balcony to see the hula show at the Hilton vacations condos?? Car rentals 150 mtrs up the road, everything including the ABC shops all within walking distance. Condo was well appointed, everything we needed was there, no complaints, we had a great time. We enjoyed the whole experience of visiting Hawaii.. Alicja Rose ( Australia) ”

To have rest and relaxation, rent Room 1530 with a paradise view

Overall rating: Seattle, Washington on 05/08/2010 said: “ We just stayed for 2 weeks in beautiful Wakiki in Room 1530 at the Ilikai Hotel. We’ve been coming there for the past 6 years but this is the first time we’ve stayed in Room 1530. It has a fabulous view of the lagoon and ocean, is right next door to the beautiful Hilton Village, is across the street from 3 well-known restaurants, is 2 blocks from the biggest outdoor shopping mall, and 3 blocks from a large movie theater, and bus service is right in front of the hotel. The condo is clean, has a nice, well equipped kitchen, 4 bar stools, couch, chair, and flat-screen TV. The screen between the bedroom and living area is very nice and convenient….. The only negative thing I could say was that maybe the TV could have had more channels than the basic ones, but we are used to 200 at home! The Ilikai is also a bus ride away from downtown Wakiki where there are great restaurants, hotels, great shops, and an international market. What a WONDERFUL place this is to forget your troubles and enjoy life to the fullest! ”

Aloha Everyone,

Times are tough and so are my discounts, I can’t even believe I’m discounting my unit this much !! I’m renting my 19th floor ocean view Ilikai Hotel condo 1927 for $99 per night.  This special is good for the months of September and October until the nights get filled.  That’s $36 off the regular rate……a great rate, just as nice as the view from my unit.  Imagine sipping a margarita on the lanai while watching a beautiful sunset……

My unit can sleep up to 4 people, has a fully stocked kitchen, and is a 3-5 minute walk to the beach (depending on how fast you want to hit the sand ). I have a cooler, boogie board and even some sand toys for the kiddies. Take advantage while you can of this special deal for my unit, not sure how long the days will be available……..

Hope to see you there !

Ilikai Hotel Apartment 1938 Update

Friday, August 6th, 2010

Wow, what a busy 10 days!

Pam and I just finished changing out all the linens and towels with new ones, had the whole place painted, replaced the coffee maker, got a new blender, tea pot and vacuum cleaner, we had new drapes installed and replaced the old (ancient!), loud air conditioner with a wall mounted, quiet, efficient split unit air conditioner. We put a deck box on the lanai and put in the boogie board, grass mats and four new beach chairs. Feel free to use them but please leave the sand on the beach!

Visit us at Aloha Condos and Ilikai Hotel condo 1938.

Grocery shopping from the Ilikai Hotel in Waikiki Hawaii

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

At the Gateway to Waikiki is the world famous oceanfront Ilikai Hotel and Apartments, and our  fully furnished condo, Ilikai Hotel unit 1530. In addition to the well-equipped, open kitchen, and the spacious lanai, you may also enjoy the fact that our prices are lower than many mere hotel rooms nearby.  Save money by eating in, and enjoy your meals on our lanai, overlooking the ocean .  We often offer discounts on our nightly rates, so be sure to check out our website! (Click on the above link to learn more about current discounts and renting this condo).

In order to stock up the refrigerator during your vacation, there are four grocery stores within walking distance of the Ilikai. They are listed below; and if you click on each link, you will find the map with walking directions from our Condo.  (This unit has a shopping cart for the use of our guests)

  1. Walmart. This store has some groceries.
  2. Sam’s Club store is above Walmart.
  3. Don Quijote.  This is our favorite store.  We think it has the best selection, including a very large Asian section.  We think it has the best prices too.   And every Tuesday they offer a 10% discount on regular priced items  for Seniors 60 years and older.  It is open 24 hours a day, as well.
  4. Foodland. This store is on the lower level of  the Ala Moana Shopping Center on the mountain side.

In addition, ABC Superette Market is across the street, kitty corner from the Ilikai, and is open from 6:30 a.m. to 1:00 a.m.

(Be informed that there is a free newspaper, Midweek, which has lots of grocery ads and comes out on Wednesdays.)

Also, on the lobby level of the Ilikai Hotel is the small General Store. It carries a fairly wide variety of grocery items, but is “pricey”. If you find that you have forgotten something in your grocery shopping, it is a possible stand-by.  This store is located at the end of the wing towards Diamond Head.  They also have a counter where you can buy some very good, made-to-order sandwiches.
